Mixed into the winter are some options for how to brighten up one's day. Snow is well known to reflect a lot of light and to blind even the most ardent of skiers. In the case of NYC the onliest way found to deal with the dreaded snow-blindness (mother nature's way of humouring our notions of "brightening up the day") is to simply ignore it until the crows come home to roost and upon finding no detail in their old haunts start peppering the ground with their corpses.
Taken: 01/26/2011 in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY. The sTREEtS were so prettily covered in white that it was hard to resist taking photos. The wind and cold helped with the resistance efforts as they both slowly wore away at my fingers.
I had to wait a few changes of the light in order to get a view of the street unoccupied by moving cars in order to give the illusion of disappearing into nothingness.
